Depart in the morning for a full day exploration of the Korean capital.south-korea-palace
Visit Gyeongbokgung Palace (closed on Tuesday); the royal palace located north of the capital was built for the first time in the fourteenth century and then a second time in the nineteenth century. This โGreatly Blessed by Heavenโ is one of the five palaces from the Choson (Joseon) dynasty and includes the Folk museum and its collection of traditional Korean life. Then visit Jogyesa Temple, which is one of the most important of the city and heart of Jogyejong Buddhist Order, practicing Zen meditation.
By midday one will savour a delicious Bibimbap lunch, the national dish; consisting of rice, meat, fried vegetables and a fried egg, all spiced up by chilli (served separately).
In the afternoon walk through โHanokโ village of Bukchon. This area known as the โNorth Villageโ is home to some 900 traditional Korean houses and offers a unique cultural immersion in Korean ancient times.
The day ends by a stroll through Insadong Street full of antique shops and art galleries. Overnight in Seoul.
After breakfast, transfer to KTX Train Station for the KTX Train to Busan. Upon arrival, visit Busan city and its famous Haeundae beach, one of the most popular destinations among Koreans during summer vacation. Then stroll through fish market of Jagalchi and at the international market selling all kind of goods.
Stop at the Cemetery of United Nationsโ Memorial, unique in the world as it is managed by the United Nations since 1960. This site pays tribute to the 37,895 members of the UN forces whom died during the Korean War between 1950 and 1953. Depart by road to visit Beomeosa Temple, architectural masterpiece located in a mountainous setting of great beauty.
